🦿 Engineering for Impact at James Blair Middle School! 🦿
Students in Mrs. Chamber's Computer Science class tackled a real-world design challenge this week: creating a prototype ankle-foot orthosis (AFO) for a tween living with cerebral palsy!

Working like true engineers, students:
✏️ Brainstormed and built individual AFO prototypes
🎤 Presented their designs to the class
📊 Used a decision matrix to evaluate every idea objectively
🤝 Collaborated to choose ONE winning design to build together as a team

This challenge pushed our Spiders to think about empathy-driven design — engineering isn't just about building things, it's about building solutions that improve someone's life.

🫧 Bubble Bonanza in 8th grade science! Students explored how different solutions affect bubble size, collected data across multiple trials, and practiced Claim-Evidence-Reasoning writing — plus reflected on error sources like true scientists. 🔬✨

To help keep our morning drop-off line running smoothly, please remember to drop off your student and then exit the car rider line. Parking in the drop-off lane is not allowed. If your student needs extra time to unload items, we kindly ask that you park in the main parking lot before letting them out. This helps keep the line moving efficiently for everyone.
