***MISSING PERSON INVESTIGATION***

The Whitley County Sheriff's Department is requesting the public's assistance in locating Mr. Joshua Oliver, age 41 of Corbin.

Mr. Oliver was last seen on Sunday, September 6, 2026, in the Little Spruce Creek area of Corbin. It is reported that he walked away from the Little Spruce Creek Apartments. His direction of travel and clothing description are unknown. Mr. Oliver’s cell phone and other personal devices were left behind at the location of his departure.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Mr. Oliver is asked to contact Whitley County 911 Dispatch at 606-549-6017 (non-emergency) or send a private message to the Whitley County Sheriff's Department page.

Sgt. David Rowe and Deputy Harold Southworth are continuing the investigation reference Case 26-118-0192.

Whitley County Sheriff's Department Deputies will periodically be conducting traffic safety checkpoints at various locations throughout Whitley County. These safety checkpoints will be conducted in an effort to enforce traffic laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, emphasizing occupant protection (seatbelt and child safety seat adherence), impaired driving, operator licensing, insurance and vehicle registration enforcement.

A complete list of our pre-approved traffic safety checkpoint locations follows and are in compliance with Department policy and procedure.

Located and recovered.

Update : 05/04/2026 0756 AM

The Vehicle in question has been located abandoned on Log Cabin Road. A little after midnight on Monday, May 4th, Whitley County 911 dispatch received a call about an abandoned vehicle sitting in the middle of the road on Log Cabin Rd. Deputy Estes Rhodes responded and recovered the vehicle which has now been returned to the owner. The investigation into the theft remains open. Anyone with information is asked to contact Whitley County 911 Dispatch at 606-549-6017, or private message the Whitley County Sheriff‘s department on our Facebook messenger page. 

** Stolen Vehicle Investigation**

We’re asking for the publics assistance with locating the below pictured stolen vehicle, which was taken from Prewitt‘s Feed and Farm Supply on US HWY 25 and Angle Rd, on Sunday, May 3rd, 2026 around 12:41 AM. The vehicle is described as a red single cab 2005 Ford F350 flatbed pick up, Kentucky license plate number E1G495. Anyone with information is asked to contact Whitley County 911 dispatch on their nonemergency line at 606-549-6017. Deputy Heather Lindsay is in charge of the investigation reference WCSO case number 26-118-0085.
