The Wilkinsburg Thursday Market returns tomorrow, Thursday, June 18, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Harold Young Sr. Parklet.

The market will take place every Thursday through October 29 and features fresh produce, local vendors, and opportunities to connect with neighbors and community organizations. Stop by, support local businesses, and enjoy all that the Wilkinsburg community has to offer!

Earlier this week, Kelly Primary hosted a Pre-K Move-Up Celebration for its 3-year-old Pre-K students and a Graduation Ceremony for its 4-year-old Pre-K students.

During the Move-Up Celebration, students sang songs and were recognized with special awards that celebrated their individual personalities, strengths, and accomplishments throughout the school year. From perseverance and determination to kindness, confidence, and friendship, each award highlighted the unique qualities that make every student special.

During the Graduation Ceremony, students proudly wore their caps and gowns, sang a song about being ready for kindergarten, and received their Pre-K diplomas one by one.

We are so proud of our district's youngest learners and all they have accomplished this year. We wish them continued success as they move on to 4-year-old Pre-K and kindergarten next year!

Yesterday, Officer C hosted an end-of-year celebration for the Turner Intermediate Safety Patrol in recognition of their hard work and dedication throughout the 2025-2026 school year.

During the celebration, students received special awards recognizing their leadership, dependability, teamwork, dedication, and commitment to going above and beyond in their roles. Each member of the team also received a Certificate of Achievement for helping keep fellow students safe throughout the school year.

The celebration concluded with a well-deserved pizza party. Congratulations to our Safety Patrol members, and thank you for your service and dedication this year!

Congratulations to the Turner Intermediate 6th Grade Class of 2026!

Today, we celebrated our students' accomplishments during the 6th Grade Promotion Ceremony. The program featured opening remarks from Superintendent Dr. Artinger, student speeches, perfect attendance recognition, excellence awards in encore classes, specialty awards, and the presentation of promotion certificates.

Congratulations on this important milestone. We are proud of all you have achieved and wish you continued success in middle school. You will be missed, and we can't wait to see all the great things you accomplish in the years ahead!

Thank you to Books in Homes USA and Sheetz for sponsoring Kelly Primary’s Book Fair!

Thanks to their generous support, every student in Pre-K through 2nd grade was invited to attend the book fair with a parent or guardian and select three books to take home at no cost.

With a wide variety of choices - including beginner readers, chapter books, and titles available in both English and Spanish - there was truly something for every young reader.

Thank you to all the families who attended and helped make this event a success. We hope the books your student selected will spark a love of reading, encourage continued learning, and provide enjoyment throughout the summer.

Missed the morning event? There’s still time to stop by this afternoon from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Every student who attends with a parent or guardian will receive at least three free books and a summer activity goody bag.

With summer around the corner, we want to make you aware of SUN Bucks, Pennsylvania’s Summer EBT program.

For summer 2026, eligible children will receive a one-time payment of $120 per child to help purchase food while school is out. Benefits will begin being issued in early June, with automatic recipients receiving SUN Bucks by the end of July. Some households may need to apply.

Join Kelly Primary for their FREE End-of-Year Book Fair tomorrow, June 4!

Parents and guardians are invited to visit the book fair with their student from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the main vestibule next to the office. Every student who attends with a parent or guardian will receive at least three free books and a summer activity goody bag. So stop by during the available times, choose some new books, and help your student get a head start on their summer reading adventures!

We’d also like to extend a special thanks to Books in Homes USA and Sheetz for sponsoring this event and helping put books into the hands of our students!

Students in grades Pre-K through 2nd had a blast at Kelly Primary's annual Fun Day today!

Throughout the day, students rotated through a variety of exciting activity stations, including rock painting, relay races, a dance party with a DJ, a bounce house, and more. They also enjoyed a picnic-style lunch featuring hot dogs, hamburgers, and corn on the cob, followed by a special visit from the ice cream truck!

Thank you to the faculty, staff, and parent volunteers who helped make this fun-filled day so memorable for our students. We can’t wait to continue the celebration with Turner Intermediate’s Fun Day on Friday!
