Today, members of the Wilkesville Joint Volunteer Fire Department visited the Rolling Hills Generating Station for a facility tour and pre-incident planning discussions alongside plant staff, other area Departments, and agencies. Opportunities like this help us better understand site hazards, improve coordination, and strengthen preparedness for future emergencies.

We extend our sincere thanks to Vinton County EMA and Rolling Hills Generating Station for collaborating and hosting this valuable preparedness opportunity.

Pretty extensive work detail today to get our new 2502 outfitted. Couldn’t thank our dedicated members enough to volunteer even more time on their days off. Each one of you are appreciated.

We would like to thank all involved in the purchase, planning, and outfitting of our new engine, this was months and even years in the making. We will be setting up at the station for our annual costume contest and passing out hotdogs as well on October 25th during Wilkesville’s trick or treat, come by and see us, tour the new apparatus, and get the kiddos some candy and hats.

Ask us for some volunteer applications and become a member of our family. 🚒 🧑‍🚒

The State of Ohio’s Burn Ban is in effect starting tomorrow morning, and runs through October, and November from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

What this means:
No open burning is allowed during these months between the restricted hours due to increased fire risk. This includes burning leaves, brush, or debris in open areas.

Why is this important?
Dry conditions and windy days make outdoor fires spread quickly, leading to dangerous and uncontrollable situations. Help us prevent fires and keep our community safe!

What can you do?
Follow the burn ban regulations.
If you must burn, do so safely after 6:00 p.m. with proper precautions.
Always have a water source nearby and never leave a fire unattended.

As we finish cleaning up from the day, we want to reflect and be gracious to those that were helpful in making this event wonderful again this year ! Thank you to everyone that Volunteered Today! We would not have been successful without you!
Thank you to the village of Wilkesville, the VC Commissioners, the VC Development department, and the VC Health Department for celebrating with us today and doing the ribbon-cutting for our new park equipment and the refurbishment of our park!
Thank you to everyone that came out and supported the fire department today by playing bingo, being in a car show or buying some food or drinks! We appreciate our community more than you could ever know! Thank you for another successful fish fry!
Thank you you to Salem Center Volunteer Fire Department Vinton Volunteer Fire Dept for volunteering and helping today! Thank you to County Gear Grinders for doing an amazing job with our car show once again! Thank you you to Legion Post #476 for the donations of water! Thank you Daisy Smith for donating ice!
Thank you for Rolling Hills, allowing us to use their golf carts and for installing new grills into our park.
Thank you, Vickie Smith, and the community building board for allowing us to use the building.
Thank you to our Wilkesville Royalty for volunteering and helping out throughout the day! You girls did a great job!
