As a private non-profit health and human services organization, MFHS works to meet the health and nutrition needs of Northeastern Pennsylvania’s women, children and families with information, education, and quality care. Founded in 1971, MFHS has been preventing disease, promoting wellness, and empowering individuals to realize the promise of better health for over forty years. Today, we oversee a

nd support a network of health and nutrition centers in 16 Pennsylvania counties, serving over 90,000 women, men and children annually through four core programs:

-WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Nutrition
-Reproductive Health
-Nurse-Family Partnership
-Pregnancy Care

June brings summer’s sweetest chapter: strawberry season! 🍓Strawberries are the WIC-approved food of the month!

Strawberries are filled with antioxidants and vitamins, including vitamin C, which helps support your immune system! These berries can also improve both heart health and blood sugar, making them a great healthy snack. 🫶 Strawberries are also super versatile—try including them in smoothies, salads, desserts, or homemade jams!

Thank you to everyone who attended Championing Women's Health—our annual springtime fundraising event presented by Building Blocks Learning Center—and showed their support for MFHS and furthering access to healthcare in our community.

The evening was a celebration of all of the champions of women's healthcare, including Mike Burns, former Board Chair and longtime Board member at MFHS. Through his leadership, strategic insight, and deep commitment to mission‑driven work, Mike has made a lasting impact on MFHS and the communities we serve. We are grateful for his dedication to advancing women’s health and supporting innovative, community‑centered care and want to thank everyone who came out to honor him. 💜

Together, we raised over $5,000 during to support Northeastern PA's women, children and families. Thanks to you, we are able to provide FREE hygiene products, diapers, maternity clothes, menstrual products, rides through Uber Health, and more to individuals in need in our community. 💙
