LCTA Announces Temporary Rt. 17 Service Adjustments June 15-16 to Accommodate Big Boy Reunion at Steamtown Visitors
For immediate release: June 12, 2026:
LCTA is advising passengers of temporary service adjustments to the Rt. 17 Scranton route on Monday, June 15, and Tuesday, June 16, 2026.
Due to the significant influx of visitors to Scranton for the Big Boy Reunion, the three middle trips operating each day will use PNC Field’s parking lot as their temporary end point rather than the Lackawanna Transit Center in downtown Scranton.
The affected trips depart the James F. Conahan Intermodal Transit Center at: 9 a.m., 11:20 a.m., and 1:40 p.m.
Passengers traveling on these three trips will be provided transportation between PNC Field and the Lackawanna Transit Center via a free connecting bus service either through COLTS or LCTA.
The first and last Rt. 17 trips of the day will NOT be affected and will service the Lackawanna Transit Center as they normally do.
The unaffected trips are: the 6:40 a.m. departure from the James F. Conahan Intermodal Transit Center, arriving at the Lackawanna Transit Center at 7:45 a.m.; and, the 3:40 p.m. departure from Luzerne County, arriving at the Lackawanna Transit Center at 5:04 p.m.
LCTA appreciates the patience and understanding of its passengers during this temporary service adjustment.
