PUBLIC NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, the Township of Wilkes-Barre Civil Service Commission will hold an entry level Full-Time Police Officer written examination for the purpose of creating an eligible roster for the Wilkes-Barre Township Police Department, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., in the Community Room of the Wilkes-Barre Township Municipal Building, 150 Watson Street, Wilkes-Barre Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
All applications for the examination must be made on forms furnished by the Civil Service Commission. Applications may be obtained at the Wilkes-Barre Township Municipal Building, 150 Watson Street, Wilkes-Barre Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, during business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., beginning on Monday, June 22, 2026. Online applications will be available at http://twp.wilkesbarre.pa.us/employment. All completed applications must be submitted no later than 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026, by either in person delivery or postal service.
The application fee of $30.00 must be paid by check or money order made payable to Wilkes-Barre Township, and submitted with the completed application.
Applicants must meet the following requirements: be at least 20 years of age; a Pennsylvania resident with a valid driver’s license; a high school graduate or equivalent and possess active ACT 120 Certification or be currently enrolled in the ACT 120 Police Academy.
