WPD Honors the Heroes of 9/11 at 4th Annual Stair Climb event💙

On the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2025, the Wildwood Police Department held our 4th Annual 9/11 Stair Climb at The Iron Village Gym, bringing together local first responders, community members, and supporters to honor the heroes who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

Throughout the event, participants climbed in honor of the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001. Moments of silence were observed throughout the morning as we remembered the lives lost and reflected on the courage and sacrifice shown that day.

A huge thank you to The Iron Village Gym for helping us host this meaningful event, and to all the participating law enforcement agencies, community partners, and members of the public who joined us in making sure the heroes of 9/11 are never forgotten.

🚨MISSING PERSON COREY ANNE KROL🚨

Corey was last seen on 9/10/26 at 4:30 p.m. at the Sugar Cane Recreation Center Pool, 2636 Fenney Way. Corey was intoxicated and was last seen with a man at the pool who offered to drive her back to her friend’s house in his black and tan golf cart. The complainant stated they met the man Thursday and do not know anything about him. Corey is visiting from Illinois and does not know anyone in the area. She has a history of epileptic seizures and is without her service dog and medication.

She was last seen wearing a black bikini and striped bottoms.

Male Description: white male, short brown hair, 170 lbs., 5'09", mid 40s, slender build, gap in front teeth, no shirt, black board shorts, and flip flops.

Their bravery, service and sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸

Today, WPD joined more than 100 students at The Villages Charter School Middleton Campus for a special 9/11 Stair Climb.

Students climbed the stadium stairs in memory of the police officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, and other first responders who climbed the 110 stories of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Each student received a Certificate of Appreciation signed by Chief Parmer for taking part.

Tomorrow, join us for WPD’s 4th Annual 9/11 Stair Climb as we mark the 25th anniversary of September 11 and honor the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice. 🇺🇸

🚸 SCHOOL ZONE SAFETY REMINDER 🚸

Now that school is back in session, that means more children, crossing guards, buses, and families on the road. Please slow down to the posted speed limit in school zones when the lights are flashing, stay alert, and keep your phone out of your hands.

Speeding fines are doubled in school zones, and Florida law prohibits holding a phone while driving through an active school zone. A few extra seconds can make all the difference in keeping our students safe.
