Experienced applicants must be, or able to become Kentucky Certified Peace Officers. Out-of-State certified officers will need to meet Kentucky Law Enforcement Council requirements for certification transfer.

Monday, August 4, 2025

Wilder Police Department (WPD) is investigating a fatal collision involving a motorcycle on 275 east just after exit 77.

Preliminary investigation indicates a black, 2005 YZF R6 Yamaha motorcycle, left the roadway for unknown reasons in the early hours of Saturday, August 2, 2025.

The operator of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased by Campbell County Coroner’s Office.

This investigation is ongoing.

Multiple residents in the City of Wilder and surrounding cities, reported their vehicles being entered over the weekend. Some reported thefts of items, while others said contents were removed from interior compartments and thrown about on seats or floorboards.

From the attached video, you can see an unknown race male, wearing a light-colored hoodie, dark jeans, walking on foot checking car door handles. The male enters an unlocked passenger side door of a small sized SUV parked in a driveway along Aspen Pines Drive. A few seconds later, he exits the SUV, closes the door, and walks off.

Due to the camera's elevated position and its night vision (infrared technology) it is difficult to see identifiable features and colors.

With local assistance, the male was identified and information obtained. Wilder Police appreciates everyone’s assistance.

Wilder Police is requesting the public's assistance identifying this individual.

Exterior video surveillance from Protect 4 Paws shows the individual walk up to the animal shelter, briefly look inside, and return to a newer model Ford Mustang.

He is being considered a witness to benign activity along Three Mile Road on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 around 7:23pm.

As a reminder, Protect 4 Paws is a no-kill, 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter with a pet surrender process. Please contact them if surrendering your pets to ensure there is available capacity as well as obtaining pet health information.
