We are proud to once again partner with CHOP (Child Hunger Outreach Program) to provide FREE snacks to our community's kids & teens (ages 18 and under) this summer! Stop by the Wilcox Public Library during operating hours and pick up a snack. Kids & Teens must be present to grab a snack.

When your garden overflows and you have no idea what to do with all the extra produce, why not bring it to the library to share with the community?

The library will supply a table where folks can share extra items from their garden. On the table, several baskets will be available to place produce; all donated produce must be fresh and whole. Precut items can not be accepted. Spoiled produce will be discarded.

The community will then be able to come to the library and choose from the offerings. The garden table will be available for everyone. All items will be FREE and open to the public. We will ask that folks only take what they will use. Guidelines will be posted on the table.

Our library has partnered with the Dairy Excellence Foundation and enrolled in the Adopt-A-Cow Program to help raise awareness for the dairy industry. The library has adopted a live calf growing up on a dairy farm. Her name is Lucy from Lone Oak Farm (dairy farm), located in New Alexandria, PA. Our calf will not be living in our library but will continue to live on the farm with our host farmer. We will receive monthly updates about her that include information, pictures, and videos. These updates include lessons and activities that you can do at home. The lessons and activities will be related to her growth, how she is cared for on the farm, and the process of milk production. We are excited to follow her journey on the farm while learning more about dairy farming and where milk comes from. Your first activity: can you guess Lucy's weight and height for next month?
