Chances are increasing for severe weather later in the week. If you haven’t already, it may be time to clean out your storm shelter and get prepared. Get your severe weather plan in place. Make sure your radios and flashlights have batteries. Make sure you have multiple ways to receive warnings.

As it turns out, the National Weather service has some great tips on severe weather preparation and has designated this week as severe weather awarness week.

Please remember as the storms move in if we have a power outages, please be respectful to all people out working in this weather it doesn’t matter if it’s lineman ,first responders ,highway department or somebody just going around helping change a flat tire they are away from their families having to be out in the weather that you’re are wanting to be protected from . I promise they are working as fast as they can. They would like to get back to their warm homes and families. They are doing their best .👍

Just a reminder if you do not have to be out in this weather, please stay home
Thank you and be safe

⚠️ POWER OUTAGES MAY HAPPEN DURING WINTER WEATHER ⚠️

With ice storms and severe winter weather, power outages are always a possibility.

If the lights go out, please remember:

👷‍♂️ Linemen will be working in harsh, dangerous conditions
⏱️ Repairs take time, especially with ice-covered lines and broken poles
⚡ Safety comes first for crews and the public

Power outages are not caused by a lack of effort. Crews will be out there as soon as it’s safe, working as fast as possible to restore service.

💙 Please be patient and understanding.
Don’t blame the linemen — they’re doing their job to get power back safely.

Stay prepared, stay safe, and thank a lineman when you get the chance.
