Nearly two dozen inmates at Stone County Correctional have graduated from the Pathway Home 5 re-entry program.

Deputies responded to a residence this morning for an incident, nearby the Perkinston Elementary and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

There is no active threat at this time and all schools are safe. The response was unrelated to the schools.

The Stone County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting enhanced traffic enforcement during the dates of August 19, 2026 through September 7, 2026.

During this time we ask all on the roadways to be mindful of driving conditions, speeds, wear seatbelts, and ensure you have all necessary safety equipment in working fashion. But, most of all, make sure you are sober behind the wheel!

🚨 Press Release - Additional Charges 🚨

As of August 5, 2026, Investigators have identified other victims of abuse, by Jackie Ray Knight. Additional charges of Sexual Battery and Molestation (1 Count of Each) were filed, in relation to new victims.

Knight is currently in custody, where he is held on a total cash bond of $950,000.00.

This case is actively under investigation. Any credible and relevant information regarding the investigation should be referred to the Stone County Sheriff's Office - Criminal Investigations Division at (601) 928-3191.
