The Sheriff’s Department, Road Department, Fire Departments, and other public safety agencies work together to identify and mark hazardous roadways during severe weather and other emergency situations.
Barricades and road closure signs are placed only when a roadway has been determined to be unsafe for travel. These barriers are not suggestions—they are there to protect lives.
Please understand that public safety agencies have limited personnel and resources. It is simply not possible to station deputies, firefighters, or road department employees at every closed roadway. We rely on the public to respect and obey barricades and closure signs that have been put in place for their safety.
Driving around, under, or through barricades, or moving them from their intended location, places you and others at risk. Conditions beyond a closure point may include washed-out roads, deep water, hidden hazards, downed power lines, or other dangerous conditions.
⚠️ It is illegal to move official traffic control devices and barricades or to disregard lawful road closures.
We ask everyone to use good judgment, obey posted closures, and choose an alternate route. Your cooperation helps keep you, your family, and our first responders safe.

There are barricades at the road closures. Any attempt to take a vehicle or travel across, while barricades are present, is a violation of law.

Please do not attempt to go around barricades or travel these areas, unless absolutely necessary. Emergency crews from law enforcement, fire and medical services, road crews, and utility companies are working tirelessly in our communities.

🛑 Road Closed - Bridge Out 🚧

The Biloxi Creek Bridge on West McHenry Road is closed. Travelers will need to find an alternative route, until it is reopened. This is due to structure damage, caused by heavy flooding.
