🍂🐾 Big news from the trails! 🐾🍂

Autumn is kicking off 2026 with a wag and a win! She has officially become the very first B.A.R.K. Ranger of the year at Wickliffe Mounds State Historic Site! 🎉

This good girl didn’t just earn a title—she learned what it takes to help keep our Kentucky State Parks clean, safe, and enjoyable for everyone. As a B.A.R.K. Ranger, Autumn follows these important rules:

🐶 Bag your pet’s waste
🐶 Always use a leash
🐶 Respect wildlife
🐶 Know where you can go

B.A.R.K. Rangers like Autumn are on a mission to protect these special places for future generations—whether they walk on two legs or four. 🐕🌿

If you see Autumn out and about, be sure to give her a cheer (and maybe a treat… with permission, of course 😉). Here’s to a year full of responsible adventures and happy tails! 🐾💛

Wickliffe Mounds is open Wednesday through Sunday, 9 AM to 5 PM. If you’d like to help your pet become a B.A.R.K. Ranger too, come by and join the fun! 🐶🌳

Thank you to our dear friends and park supporters for twenty years, Andres and Lili! Their son Tomas researched and built a stickball game set for park visitors to enjoy, six years ago, as his Eagle Scout project. This year, the emblems were weathered and worn, so they had them refurbished for future generations!!

Wickliffe Mounds State Historic Site is now open for the 2026 season! Come visit the park and shake off the last of winter with a tour of the museum and mounds or a walk through our Woods Walk Trail!
