In observance of Juneteenth, our program office and Wichita Habitat ReStore* will be closed Friday, June 19th. We will take this day to reflect on our collective responsibility to advance justice and equity for all. This celebration reinforces our core mission of building a more equitable future through accessible homeownership in Sedgwick County.

Did you know?
Habitat for Humanity’s global mission began in the 1940s at Koinonia Farm, a Georgia community built on the principles of equity and shared resources. By prioritizing partnership and dignity, we launched an initiative to build affordable homes in collaboration with families, which ultimately shaped the Habitat we know today.

* ReStore Wichita will reopen with regular hours the following day on Saturday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

"Now, my home is so comfortable, safe, and beautiful," Patricia shared.

For decades, Patricia's house has been the heart of her family's legacy. But as time slipped by, maintaining it became a terrifying and overwhelming burden. With a little encouragement from her pastor, Patricia set her pride aside and reached out to our Home Repair Program.

Today, her house is completely transformed with new siding, windows, and paint. Best of all, she can finally enjoy peace of mind while creating new memories with her children and grandchildren.

After facing immense struggles, Patricia worked with Wichita Habitat’s Home Repair Program to save her family home and find peace of mind.
