Another unforgettable commencement weekend in the books. 🎓✨

On Friday evening, we celebrated our graduate students as they crossed the stage and prepared to take the next step in their artistic and professional journeys. Then, on Saturday morning, we proudly cheered as our undergraduate graduates officially became Wichita State alumni.

To all of our graduates across the College of Fine Arts: thank you for sharing your artistry, creativity, passion, and dedication with our community. Your work has shaped our stages, studios, rehearsal halls, classrooms, and campus in countless ways.

These College of Fine Arts students were selected for their leadership, service, academic excellence, and outstanding artistic development through their time at WSU. When Carlos graduates, he plans to continue working as a studio technician while waiting for graduate school acceptance.

The Wichita State University College of Fine Arts and the Wichita State University School of Performing Arts are featured on the 92NY Dance Education Laboratory (DEL) website.

This spring, WSU Dance students participated in a Movement Sentence Choir led by alum Dawn DiPasquale, a dance educator with DEL in New York City. The collaborative experience introduced students to creative movement pedagogy rooted in community-centered choreography and accessible to dancers of all backgrounds.

The WSU ensemble is now highlighted as part of DEL’s “30+ Movement Sentence Choirs for 30 Years” initiative, celebrating three decades of advancing dance education. Portions of the work were also included in a film screened during DEL’s 30th anniversary celebration at the 92nd Street Y.

As said before, these students were selected for their academic excellence, leadership, service, and outstanding artistic development throughout their time at WSU. Once Josh graduates, he’ll be teaching middle school band in Wichita.
