Ms. Vanessa’s 1st graders had a great time in P.E.! From warm-ups to parachute activities, students were building teamwork skills, staying active, and having fun while learning together.

¡Los alumnos de primer grado de la Sra. Vanessa se lo pasaron bien en la clase de educación física! Desde ejercicios de calentamiento hasta actividades con paracaídas, los estudiantes desarrollaron habilidades de trabajo en equipo, se mantuvieron activos y se divirtieron mientras aprendían juntos.

Mrs. Koonce’s 3rd graders were hard at work in music class! Students began with a song about Respect, our Character Strong trait for the month, and then learned about the 4/4 meter and how to read a meter sign. Through music, they are building important skills in rhythm, notation, and musical understanding. Great learning, Eagles! 🎶

Recently during science class, our 5th graders took a step back in time as they explored how people told time long before clocks and smartphones! By designing and testing their own sundials, students used the sun’s shadows to discover how the position of the sun can be used to track time. What a fun, hands-on way to bring science to life! 🌞🕒

Recientemente, durante la clase de ciencias, nuestros alumnos de quinto grado viajaron al pasado para explorar cómo se medía el tiempo mucho antes de los relojes y los teléfonos inteligentes. Congratulations to Ms. Cline's 4th grade class for showing their Derby pride and wearing the most green today!

As this week's Green Is Magic Spirit Award winners, they received a special visit from the Derby High School football players and had the opportunity to take a class photo with them. The players also surprised students with tickets to next week's home football game! 🏈
Way to go, Ms. Cline's class! Thank you for showing your school spirit and helping make our first Green Is Magic Friday so much fun!

She shared valuable reminders about walking safely to and from school, using crosswalks, being aware of their surroundings, and making responsible choices while traveling through the neighborhood.

Whether it's showing kindness to others, listening attentively, following expectations, or treating everyone with care, these students are helping make Cooper a great place to learn and grow.

Join us for Camp Cooper on Thursday, September 10th, from 5:30–7:00 p.m. for an evening filled with family fun, dinner, important school information, and exciting Adventure Trail activities! 🏕️
This special event is a wonderful opportunity to connect with other Cooper families and staff while creating lasting memories together.

👕 Bittersweet will also be on-site making and selling Cooper shirts and Derby shirts, so you can show off your Eagle pride and Derby pride with a custom shirt made right on the spot! A portion of the sales will be donated to Cooper!
We can't wait to see you there for an evening of fun, connection, and community.
