This beautiful country of ours was once home to a Libertarian Utopia.

I speak, of course, of the region and Era colloquially known as "The Wild West." Where any honest and hard working young man could start a farm, to provide for his family and raise his children as he saw fit. Provided, he didn't run afoul of the local cattle baron. Or his family didn't get sick when the traveling doctor was 3 weeks away. Or bandits didn't come thru. Or the sherrif didn't take an unnatural liking to his youngest daughter.

Yes, truly paradise.

I think one of our problems is that we are hooked on the "Great Man" fallacy.

We are addicted to the narrative that a single individual can completely change the course of a company, or a country. So we put all of our hopes on that single leader, and when things don't work out (because life is complicated, politics more so) we put the blame for failure onto his shoulders.

And the media feeds it straight to us, because they know we want the "Great Man" narrative, so they give us what sells.

This is an interesting fact sheet a friend of mine posted. He is a local political science professor. It is a perfect example of how Trump is a compulsive liar and conman.

So far, the most convincing evidence I've seen of any election fraud large enough to change the outcome, is the guy who got paid 130K to fabricate evidence of fraud.

Remember, there are only 2 ways to change the way this country is being run. A ballot, and a gun.

Unpopular opinion:

Donald Trump is not racist.

He simply says/does whatever he thinks will garner praise from the loudest voices in the room.

Unfortunately, the more he panders, the more other voices leave the room, the louder certain voices seem.

Never, not once in the history of the world, has peaceful action by itself ended oppression. Only when the oppressor is faced with the consequences of their actions will things change. No one listens to words of reason until after the violence starts.
