Sheppard Air Force Base Sheppard AFB is the home of the 82nd Training Wing & the 80th Flying Training Wing. It is part of Air Education and Training Command.

Sheppard Air Force Base is located just north of Wichita Falls, Texas, and about 10 minutes from the Oklahoma border. Sheppard was first established in the early 1940s to conduct basic military and technical training. Throughout the years, it has transformed into the Air Force's premier training installation, producing more than 75,000 graduates annually. DISCLAIMER:

Airmen at Sheppard Air Force Base put their skills to the test during the annual Mission Support Group exercise, building readiness and preparing for the challenges of a deployed environment.

Over four days, Airmen completed refresher training at their home squadrons before coming together as a unit to build a forward operating base. Once the base was established, it was time to put their training to the test!

Training scenarios included tactical combat casualty care (TCCC), responding to security threats, identifying unexploded ordnance (UXO) and troubleshooting communications issues.

In a deployed environment, Airmen may need to step outside their normal jobs and take on new responsibilities to keep the mission moving. Exercises like this challenge them to adapt, work together and stay ready for whatever comes their way.

Train together. Adapt quickly. Stay mission ready!

Team Sheppard was thrilled to welcome Burkburnett ISD to Sheppard AFB during Fire Prevention Week for a special, sensory-friendly experience!

Students met our first responders, tried on firefighter gear, explored a fire truck and ambulance, and even used a fire hose! These hands-on experiences provide a fun, welcoming way for students to become more comfortable with the people and equipment that help keep our community safe. ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿš’๐Ÿงฏ
