We are the City of Wichita Falls Animal Services Center, a division of the Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District. Animal Control Officers work from 8am-5pm Monday-Friday and are on-call Saturday and Sunday. Emergencies are screened via an after-hours eme

rgency phone and on holidays. Saturdays and Sundays, ACOs can be contacted by leaving a voicemail or calling the emergency phone. The Animal Services Center is open to the public 11am-6pm Monday-Friday, and 10am-2pm on Saturdays. If you are looking to adopt, all other pets in your home must be spayed/neutered and current on rabies vaccinations and City licenses (if you live in Wichita Falls). You will also need a pre-paid spay/neuter appointment for the pet you are adopting and will need to provide us proof of the completed surgery within 10 days of adoption. The weather is still HOT, and it isn't just our pets feeling the effects. ☀️

Wildlife may be on the move searching for food and water, and we are seeing stray dogs and cats coming into the shelter **dehydrated, underweight and in need of some extra TLC.**

🥫 **We are always grateful for donations of canned dog and cat food** to help us give these animals the extra nutrition they need while they recover.

And we have some good news! 🎉

The **City of Wichita Falls Animal Services** will be **CLOSED Monday, September 7th**, in observance of Labor Day.

While our doors may be closed, our animals are still being fed, cleaned, cared for, and probably wondering why the humans don't understand that **kennel cleaning is definitely still labor!** 😂🐶🐱

UPDATE: Little Miss Ella has been adopted. YEE HAW!!

🤠 **This little dog is from Texas… and WE CAN TELL.**

Meet **Ella**, named after country girl **Ella Langley**, because there was really no other choice. 🎶

Ella is a Cowboy Corgi—a Corgi/Heeler mix—which basically means somebody took **short legs, big ears, cow-dog confidence, and a whole lot of sass** and stuffed it into one ridiculously cute little package.

She may be low to the ground, but don't let that fool you. Ella walks around like she owns the ranch, the cattle, the truck AND the deed to the property. 😂

She’s cute.
She’s country.
She’s got opinions.
And she is looking for somebody who appreciates a girl with a little personality. 💅🤠

🐾 **CLOSED FOR LABOR DAY… BUT THE PAWS DON’T TAKE HOLIDAYS!** 🐾

City of Wichita Falls Animal Services will be **closed Monday, September 7th in observance of Labor Day.**

Of course, our animals didn’t get the memo. 😂🐶🐱 They still expect breakfast, clean kennels, fresh water, belly rubs, and room service right on schedule! **Our animals will continue to be cared for throughout the holiday—because not everyone gets the day off!** ❤️
