Thanks to Wichita Falls Mayor Tim Short and the City Council for recognizing September 2024 as National Preparedness Month in Wichita Falls. I also want to say thank you to all the Emergency Management partners, stakeholders and agencies that colloborate together to ensure that the Whole Community can Prepare, Respond, and Recover from Natural Disasters and hazards that affect our community.

OUTDOOR WARNING SYSTEM UPDATE:
With overcast skies and chances of thunderstorms in the area - we will not be testing the audible outdoor warning system today. We will continue to silent test the system and plan on testing the audible part of the system on the first Monday next month.

Weather permitting- We will be testing the outdoor warning system on Monday, September 2, 2024 at noon.

The HHH Event Operations Center is monitoring a grass fire near the intersection of FM 369 and FM 368.

At this time the fire is not effecting any of the routes or official HHH riders. Fire crews are working to contain the fire at this time.

We will continue to monitor and update the public with any information as needed.

The 42nd Hotter’N Hell Hundred is underway in downtown Wichita Falls.

The Event Operations Center is now active as emergency personnel monitor the ride and approximately 8,000 riders as they traverse their way around Wichita and Clay counties.

The Operations Center will continue to operate until the final rider crosses the finish line. Please be aware of cyclists on the roads and road closures throughout the day.
