June's Board Member Spotlight - Jerry Bettenhausen!

"The Arc is the place in our community which provides advocacy, support, and services to people with disabilities and their families. The Arc provides a wide range of support and services to people with intellectual disabilities and their families which are not available elsewhere in our community. The Arc is currently expanding services in Wichita County, while also reaching out to other communities in North Texas which are lacking services.”

We are so grateful Jerry has chosen to serve us after a career of working with people with disabilities at Work Services Corporation!

A huge thank you to Erich Lofton and Sheppard AFB for their continued partnership and support of our HERO House programs. Erich has played such an important role over the years in helping our members build daily living skills, social connections, and confidence. During COVID days, Erich was committed to staying connected and would do live videos in our member group with his animals! We know we can depend on Erich to be there for our members and we are so grateful to have him as someone supporting the Wichita Falls community as a whole!

We are incredibly grateful for community partners like Sheppard AFB who invest their time and care into the individuals we serve. 🤍

In this video, Dr. Frank Del Rio shares simple and affordable ways to create a calming area for individuals with sensory needs using items you may already have around the house. Spring has been full of fun, connection, and community at our Graham HERO House. From outings and volunteering to celebrations, exercise classes, and spending time together, our members have stayed busy making memories and building friendships.

One thing we love most about HERO House is seeing our members actively involved in their communities and trying new experiences. We’re proud of all the ways our Graham members continue to stay connected, give back, and support one another.
