Rio Hondo College and the Fire Academy remember and honor the men and women who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
We especially remember the brave first responders who ran toward danger to help others, and we honor their families who continue to carry their legacy.
We will never forget their courage, sacrifice, and service.

Tonight, our Board had the opportunity to celebrate and recognize our dedicated classified employees and faculty members for their years of service to Rio Hondo College.
We are incredibly proud of the committed and talented team members who work every day to support, inspire, and empower our students. Their dedication and service are an essential part of our college community and our students’ success.

Grateful to have attended the Rio Hondo College CARE Fall Orientation! The CARE Program supports student parents, including incredible single mothers who are working hard to build a brighter future for themselves and their children. It was inspiring to be surrounded by women who are balancing motherhood, education, and their dreams while continuing to push forward.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending Wake Up Whittier at the Los Angeles County Sanitation District and connecting with local businesses and community leaders. Thank you to the Whittier Chamber of Commerce for hosting a great event.
Today, I attended the Rio Hondo College Foundation Board Meeting. It’s a privilege to stay connected, listen and be involved in the communities I serve.

For 29 years, I’ve had the privilege of being a Science Teacher, inspiring students to learn, dream big, and build their futures.
Eight years ago, I brought that same passion for education and service to the Río Hondo Community College District Board of Trustees. Together, we’ve strengthened our college’s finances, passed Measure RH to build new facilities and student housing, and launched programs that connect students to real career opportunities.
There’s more work to do, and I’m not finished.
Today, I’m proud to announce my campaign for re-election to the Río Hondo Community College District Board of Trustees, Area 3.
I’d be honored to continue serving our students, our college, and our community and to keep earning your support.
Let’s keep building a stronger future for Río Hondo.

It has been a busy few weeks celebrating the incredible success and achievements of our students, but today was the grandest of them all, Commencement. As Board President, I had the distinct honor and privilege of addressing and welcoming our graduates as they take the next step in their journey. I couldn’t be more proud of all they have achieved! Congratulations, Class of 2026! Start Rio, Go Anywhere!
