Jonathan Bailey House

Jonathan Bailey House The Bailey House was built in 1868 and became the first home in the City of Whittier in 1887. It is We are open for free walk in tours on Sundays from 1-4pm.

The Bailey House showcases what it was like to live in Whittier in 1887 when the town had just begun. At the very beginning of Whittier's history there was no electricity or running water. Come see what it was like to live in a time before television and convenience stores. We also hold scheduled tours throughout the week for groups of 10 or more. To set up a scheduled group tour call the Museum at (562) 945-3871.

The historic Bailey House in Whittier is celebrating their 50th anniversary as a historic house this Sunday, June 22, from 1 to 4 pm. There will be FREE ICE CREAM, crafts and games for children, weaving and quilting demonstrations, model A cars, and of course tours of the Bailey House. 13421 Camilla St. Did I mention FREE ICE CREAM?

Happy Holidays from the Bailey House!

Come join us for a tour this December on Friday the 27th and Sunday the 29th. We are open from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. These are the only days in December open for public tours. Public tours are always free, donations happily accepted. We hope to see you then!
