A Look Back at Our Roots 📚✨

Sometimes the best way to appreciate how far we’ve come is to look back at where we started.

We recently uncovered newspaper articles and photographs documenting the early days of WACSEP and the incredible work our member school districts were doing to support students with disabilities.

As we celebrate these remarkable discoveries, we also honor the pioneers whose vision helped shape the services and supports our students receive today. Here’s to preserving our history while continuing to build an even brighter future for every student. Thank you to everyone who has been part of the WACSEP story—past, present, and future. Swipe through to explore these fascinating snapshots from our history!

Last week we celebrated an incredible milestone and an even more incredible person. After more than 30 years in education, our beloved Paula Miller will soon embark on a well deserved retirement.

For over three decades, Paula has inspired students, supported families, encouraged coworkers, and made a lasting difference in countless lives. Paula’s dedication, kindness, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to education have left a legacy that will continue for generations.

We will miss you dearly Paula! Congratulations on your retirement. May this next chapter be filled with joy, adventure, relaxation, and all the happiness you deserve.
