Our last trail Saturday of the summer was a great success! Many hundreds of pounds of rocks were moved and broken by hand, and the crew was rewarded with some chicken and pork fajitas and rice afterwards.

Another Slug Out SUCCESS! Just under 30 people showed up to help eradicate an invasive species in Whittier. It was hot & sunny, and the slugs were hide & seek experts, but we filled the bucket 🪣. Lower numbers may not seem as fun, but it’s also proof that it’s WORKING!
Big thanks to our volunteers, Charla, Pete, and Barbara for helping educate us and giving us the opportunity to make a difference, Lori & Dave for making our bandit slug buddies, Heather for making shirts for prizes, and to Todd, Caren, Renner, and Kaitlyn from Whittier Ice Cream for providing those insane ice cream cones!

The beach access to Smitty’s Cove got a bit of a facelift! Volunteers brushed out the area around the bathroom/bike rack/path down to the beach, as well as rearranged some of the rocks to help with accessibility. Go check it out!
