The We Draw the Lines CA approved the Assembly, Senate, and Congressional maps this evening. The greater Whittier area was only kept whole in the Congressional. Cut in half in the Assembly and lost South Whittier in the State Senate.

The California district in Commission is doing the congressional lines right now and it looks like Whittier is whole and most of the districts as well as keeping most of the Eastside Cities together. (Montebello & Pico Rivera)

This past Monday, the Redistricting Commission did the latest, and most likely the final, changes to the Assembly Districts cutting the Whittier area in two districts. These are the latest iterations.

Hello Redistricting Advocates. The Commission is going to work on Los Angeles county congressional districts tomorrow. They finished up with orange county today. Based on their timeline, whatever they do tomorrow is final for LA County congressional districts. Hopefully you were able to submit testimony to support the Eastside cities as a COI: commune of interest. The SGV-API, LBC, SELA and Valley advocates were providing a lot of testimony and letters that will create a ripple effect for all districts.

The next public special meeting or LA County Redistricting Commission will be Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at 6:30 PM. It will be followed by a communities of interest public hearing for SD 4.
