And as they say... and here is the rest of the story!
A BIG THANK YOU to all those who have supported the 103rd Anniversary of our Bench and our history -
- City Council member Vicki Wilson working the Kristi Woellert our City Secretary to draft our Proclamation and Janice Sanders, Mayor for presenting it on behalf of the City of Whitney and to the City of Whitney for recognizing its continuous historical significance...
- Juniper Cove Winery for its continued support and maintenance of the Bench
- for our amazing small scale replica of "Life on the Bench"
- Kenneth and Julia Eubank for getting on top of that tall scaffolding with me to help repaint the wall mural and making needed wood repairs on the Bench and Bruce Martin for loaning us the scaffolding to do that task
- Sara Jewel and her husband Chris who helped clean, refresh, and repaint the Bench for this year's celebration
- Cheryl Taylor-West for helping with the Cake so that everyone had a part in our celebration
- WesnJess Brown for doing our video and making sure we got pictures!
- And to All Our Great Visitors and Relatives of the Descendents of the Bench for helping us continue to piece together family stories and add to the sense of Community brought together by something as simple as a bench...

Come out today 11am- 1pm to celebrate with cake and popcorn!
And dont forget to take a selfie on The Bench to commemorate this day!

We are also taking donations for Whitney's new Animal Shelter and for our City's 1st Responders!

It is that time of year again! *** Happy 102nd Birthday *** to our Famous Whitney Bench! 102 years of bringing the Community together!

This year, we will be celebrating its birthday on Sat July 27 from 11am-1pm with cake, popcorn, and music! We will also be supporting our local community needs by collecting donations for the following:
*** Whitney Animal Shelter - towels, blankets, Purina puppy chow, bowls, and monetary donations
*** Whitney's First Responders - gatorade, power/protein bars, chapstick, eye wash, baby wipes/towelettes, etc

We hope you can meet us Saturday at The Bench!!

Join us for the 100th Birthday of our Famous Bench in downtown Whitney! Celebration begins Saturday July 30th at 11 am!

Enjoy some music from the time and a short history brief then party on with some delicious birthday cake to celebrate one of Whitney's historical landmarks!

The Grinch and his dog, Max, have been spotted around the Whitney Christmas tree and at The Bench!!

Rumor has it that the Grinch may be trouncing around town Sat Dec 11th at the Lake Whitney Chamber Of Commerce Christmas Bazaar and the End Zone Sports Grill's 6th Annual Holiday Feast!

"Max is the world's greatest dog, let alone the Grinch's best companion. Anyone should be so lucky to have a Max in their life."
