Notice

We would kindly like to ask the public to not call 911 on downed trees unless they are causing a hazard to a resident or across the roadway, we have state and County road crews out traveling all roads taking care of downed trees as they find them, and also Electric companies do know what areas are out of power.
Our 911 center is getting over run with calls and we don’t want to miss an emergency call due to all lines being tied up.
For any non emergency calls that need to be handled we do have people at the courthouse to assist. 606-376-2413
Thank you for your patience and help during this rough time for all of us.

The issue with Verizon not being able to contact 911 has been resolved!

09/22/2025

‼️Attention‼️

Verizon users are currently unable to call the Emergency 911 lines and the admin lines.

This is due to vandalism at a wind stream trunk in Pulaski county where the fiber lines were cut. The estimated time until it’s fixed is approximately 3 hours!

We are very sorry for the inconvience this will cause.

McCreary 911 is currently seeking workers for a part time position, with a possibility of full time in the future. This position will be nights and weekends. For information, call 606-376-5063. Applications can be picked up and turned in at McCreary County Ambulance Service.

06/24/2025

The 911 emergency lines are currently back up.

A huge thank you to all the crews for their hard work on getting them fixed!

!!! Attention !!!

McCreary County Emergency phone lines are currently down due to fiber being cut in the Greenwood area. IF YOU CALL 911, YOU WILL BE REDIRECTED TO WAYNE COUNTY 911. They will then contact our dispatchers to have your emergency sent to the responding Emergency Services. This will cause a delay in time.

We are also unable to make or receive long distance phone calls.

Currently, we are able to make and receive calls through our administration lines.

We are sorry for the inconvenience that this will cause. Crews are currently working hard to fix the problem.
