What a buzz-worthy day! 🐝
The McCreary County Big South Fork Beekeepers hosted the McCreary County 4-H Junior Beekeepers for a sweet day of learning and fun! The group got a firsthand look inside a relocated swarm hive, searched for brood, and played the always-exciting game of "Where's the Queen?" πŸ‘‘πŸ.
Along the way, we talked all about bees, their fascinating habits, and some of their quirky behaviors. After working up an appetite, everyone enjoyed a delicious BBQ hot dog lunch and plenty of bee-themed conversation.
A huge thank you to Becky & Paul Hintzmann, Jeanette & Paul McCreight, and the Big South Fork Beekeepers for sharing their knowledge, hospitality, and love of beekeeping with our young beekeepers. We had a bee-rilliant time and can't wait to do it again! πŸ―πŸπŸ’›

They do the work...4-H Carpenters DIY Lazy Susans πŸ€πŸͺšπŸͺ›
We introduced a new power tool this evening...the router. Routers use a high-speed spinning bit that adds a decorative edge to wood projects. After using the jigsaw to cut the top piece of their project, participants then put a beveled edge on it using the router. After sanding, they attached a 360Β° ball bearing swivel plate to their base, connecting top & bottom. These projects are perfect for spice racks, rotating center pieces & much more.
Second part of this class will be held at a later date.

Farm to Fork Garden Club members worked hard last night planting their final raised bed with tomatoes, lettuce, marigolds, nasturtiums, and cilantro, while also fertilizing the garden to keep it growing strong. Other than a little help watering between meetings, this garden is completely the result of their own hard work. They can’t wait to enjoy the fruits of their labor! πŸ…πŸ₯’πŸŒΌ
