Due to recent questions regarding the death of Gene Cooper, the McCreary County Sheriff’s Department would like to clarify although our agency assisted, the investigation was conducted by Kentucky State Police.

As this was a Kentucky State Police investigation, any questions regarding the case, findings, or conclusions should be directed to Kentucky State Police.
