Did You Know…that Whiting was once the home of one of America’s top motorcycles. 🏍️

The Hornecker Torpedo was made here in the early 1900s, in a shop where the White Castle now stands. At the time, it battled with the Indian and Harley brands for the title of America’s best motorcycle.

Due to the weather forecast and concern for safety, NWI Fun Ball with The Region Razzles is postponing the Thursday, June 11, event. Our next production is our regularly scheduled June 25 date. All tickets will transfer and the FREE ticket with purchase will be honored to any game. Thank you for your understanding.

The City of Whiting has a couple of great events happening tonight, and we're hoping the weather cooperates!

🛍️ Market on the Plaza kicks off its first night of the season from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Stop by Sheridan Plaza and check out local vendors, unique products, and more.

⚾ Then head over to Oil City Stadium as our new collegiate summer baseball team, the Pipeline Patriots, takes on The Crush in a doubleheader beginning at 5:00 PM.

Make an evening of it—shop local, support local baseball, and enjoy a fun night in Whiting!

The wait is almost over! The first Market on the Plaza of the season is happening tomorrow at Sheridan Plaza from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM!

The Whiting Police Department is monitoring reports of an unauthorized “teenage takeover” and has increased police presence throughout the city, especially near the lakefront, beaches, and business district.

Officials say there will be zero tolerance for unlawful behavior, including vandalism, traffic disruptions, and disorderly conduct.

Residents and businesses are urged to report suspicious activity to 911, secure property, and follow official city and police social media channels for updates.
