If you were unable to attend today’s 9/11 Memorial Ceremony, we have uploaded the full video for you to view.

The ceremony began with a five-minute moment of silence in remembrance of the lives lost on September 11, 2001. The program begins at approximately 5:13 in the video.

Today, members of the Whiting Fire Department and Whiting Police Department came together at Whiting High School Football Stadium to honor the lives lost and the heroes of September 11, 2001.

Our first responders climbed 2,200 stadium stairs — roughly the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center — as a tribute to the firefighters, police officers, first responders, and civilians whose lives were forever changed that day.

On this 25th anniversary, we remember their courage, their sacrifice, and the lives that were lost.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙

Today, the City of Whiting held a special 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at City Hall. Thank you to everyone who joined us as we came together to remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

A special thank you to the Whiting Fire Department, Whiting Police Department, American Legion Post 80, Rev. Greg Evers, the School City of Whiting Band, and Romina Ornelas for helping make today’s ceremony so meaningful.

As we mark the 25th anniversary of September 11th, may we continue to remember the lives lost, honor our first responders, and never forget the strength and unity shown on that day. 🇺🇸

Today marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001 — a day that forever changed our nation.

We pause to remember the lives lost, honor the brave first responders who ran toward danger, and recognize the countless families whose lives were forever changed.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember the courage, sacrifice, and unity shown in the days that followed.

Tomorrow marks 25 years since September 11, 2001. The City of Whiting invites our community to join us as we honor and remember all those who lost their lives that day.
