It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of Veronica G. Ward, who faithfully served our fire department as secretary for 38 years. Her dedication, hard work, and commitment to this department and community did not go unnoticed.

For nearly four decades, Veronica was a steady and dependable part of our department family. We are grateful for the time, service, and care she gave throughout the years.

Please keep the family, friends, and all who knew Veronica in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Rest in peace 2019, and thank you for your service.

🚫 What You CANNOT Legally Burn in North Carolina

It is illegal to burn the following materials:
• Household trash or garbage
• Plastics (bags, bottles, containers, etc.)
• Treated, painted, or stained wood
• Tires or rubber products
• Construction debris (shingles, insulation, etc.)
• Paper products in large quantities (that create excessive smoke)
• Hazardous materials (chemicals, fuels, etc.)

👉 Only natural vegetation such as leaves, branches, and yard debris should be burned.
