Criminal Trespass 3rd – Town of Independence
On January 8th, at approximately 2:00 PM, Independence Police Department charged Dusty N. Green, age 43, of Whitesville, NY, with Criminal Trespass 3rd following an incident that occurred on White Creek Ln in the Town of Independence.
Dusty N. Green was issued an appearance ticket directing him to appear in the Town of Independence Court at a later date.

On January 8th, at approximately 3:00 PM, Independence Police Department charged Dusty N. Green, age 43, of Whitesville, NY, with Criminal Mischief 4th following an incident that occurred on White Creek Ln in the Town of Independence.
Dusty N. Green was issued an appearance ticket directing him to appear in the Town of Independence Court at a later date.

Public Lewdness
On January 9th, at approximately 8:00 PM, Independence Police Department charged Kyle P. Shepard, age 32, of Whitesville, NY, with Public Lewdness following an incident that occurred on Wildman Ave in the Town of Independence.
Kyle P. Shepard was issued an appearance ticket directing him to appear in the Town of Independence Court at a later date.

Independence Police wishes to remind all residents that as of December 1st, the Town Ordinance prohibits any parking on all Town roads between the hours of 2:00 am and 6:00 am.
The restriction remains in effect through April 1st. Violators are subject to a $30 ticket.

Arrest on Bench Warrant – Town of Independence
On November 13, 2025, at approximately 4:05 PM, members of the Independence Police Department arrested Justin A. Seratt, age 38, of Whitesville, NY, on a Town of Independence Bench Warrant issued for failure to appear in court on November 3, 2025.
Seratt was taken into custody without incident, processed, and subsequently turned over to the Allegany County Centralized Arraignment Program (CAP) Court for further judicial proceedings.

Charge Issued – Unlicensed Dog
On November 13, 2025, at approximately 6:10 PM, Independence Police Department charged Andrew J. Vallieres, age 37, of Whitesville, NY, with Possession of an Unlicensed Dog in violation of Town of Independence Local Law 4-2010/5.
Vallieres was issued an appearance ticket directing him to appear in the Town of Independence Court on December 1, 2025, to answer the charge.

6:30 pm: Arrested Michelle K Fauth, age 47 of Wellsville, New York on a Town of Independence Bench Warrant. Fauth was processed and turned over to Deputies at the Allegany County Jail for CAP.

7:30 pm: Appearance tickets were issued to Kane A Stebbins, Age 50 of Whitesville, NY, and Tisha A Tarr, age 49 of Whitesville, NY for Local law unlicensed dogs. Both are due in the Town of Independence Court in October at Town of Independence.

Independence PD arrest during June 2025

June 5, 2025
Independence Police charged Michelle K. Fauth, 46, of Wellsville, NY with one count of Petit Larceny (misdemeanor) Thursday afternoon. Fauth is due to appear August 25, 2025 in the Independence Town Court.


June 11, 2025
Independence Police charged Anayia M. Clugh, 36, of Westfield, PA with Third-Degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Speed in Zone following a traffic stop on Springmills Road. Clugh is due to appear July 7, 2025 in the Independence Town Court.

Harrigan and Hesselton Gully Roads are closed to ALL traffic. This includes ATVs, SxS, motorcycles, etc. If you are caught operating on these closed roads, you will be ticketed and the machines will be impounded. Thank you for your cooperation.
