The Youth Bored Archive project seeks to document, preserve and share the artistic output of the alternative music and arts movement that began in eastern Kentucky in the late 1990s. Appalshop, which has hosted Youth Bored shows in its Boone Motor Building, launched this page to connect alumni of the scene who have created or collected Youth Bored material including: video & audio recordings, phot
ographs, artwork (posters, fliers, zines), memorabilia (buttons, stickers) as well as playlists, correspondence, and other documentation. Appalshop will host a gathering in the summer of 2016 to share physical and digital materials and offer a workshop on caring for personal collections. We will also accept donations of physical and digital items to the Archive. Please help preserve the history of Youth Bored! If you would like to donate materials or receive more information please contact [email protected] or [email protected].
