At last night’s meeting, the Whitestown Town Board presented Vince Coyne with a proclamation in recognition of his outstanding service on the Mohawk Valley Water Authority (MVWA) Governance Board.
Vince proudly and effectively represented the Town of Whitestown and the greater Mohawk Valley region on the MVWA Board – a volunteer position – for 29 years before retiring at the end of last year. Prior to his time on the MVWA Board, Vince served on the Citizens’ Task Force on Regionalization, which explored opportunities for consolidation and shared services. The task force ultimately recommended, among other ideas, the purchase of the Utica water system by a regional water authority consisting of appointed representatives from the City of Utica and surrounding towns and villages. The regional water authority became the MVWA.
Vince knows the importance of partnerships, and we are all better off because of his strong leadership and forward thinking.
Thank you, Vince, for all that you have done to better our community, county and region!
