Overnight Update: Acker Tap has reopened and a temporary roadway repair has been installed. Please continue to drive with caution. A very big thank you to Atmos and City personnel who worked through the night.

6:39 PM Update: Atmos anticipates another couple of hours to complete the repair. Once the gas line is repaired, crews will work to backfill the portion of the roadway that has been impacted. Once that is complete, City staff will assess the area to determine if it is safe to reopen to vehicles.

Atmos Energy is responding to a gas leak near the intersection of Highway 110 and Acker Tap Road. To allow crews to safely complete necessary repairs, Acker Tap Road is currently closed to all traffic.

At this time, there is no threat to public safety. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

5:26 a.m. Update: Water service was restored around 4:30 a.m. County Road 2133 at 346 has one lane open. Please drive with caution in the area.

9:37 p.m. Update: Water service will be out for at least several more hours while crews continue repairs. County Road 2133will likely remain closed through the morning while crews assess the condition.

We are aware that some customers are experiencing a water outage caused by a water main break near the Whitehouse Sports Complex and County Road 2133 is currently closed to traffic at 346. City crews are actively working to restore water service to affected areas. We are thankful for your patience.
