What happens when students use engineering to solve a problem they care deeply about?

Whitehall-Yearling seniors Amelia Owen, Amina Elhamdi, and James Orihime Wright spent a year researching women's safety, consulting experts, collecting community feedback, and developing an innovative capstone project called The North Star.

Along the way, they learned resilience, teamwork, and one of engineering's most important lessons: sometimes you have to fail, revise, and try again.

We're proud of these young women and the meaningful work they created.
