At the Whitefish Community Center, we are dedicated to fostering a vibrant and connected community by providing essential programs that combat loneliness, promote health, offer volunteer opportunities, and strengthen community bonds. By addressing the pressing issue of loneliness, particularly affecting older adults and individuals living alone, we provide a vital hub where people can engage socia

lly, participate in enriching activities, and find a sense of belonging. We believe that when collaborating with local institutions, we can empower leaders and facilitate local initiatives that benefit everyone. Our center serves as more than just a facility; it's a cornerstone for civic engagement, wellness, and community spirit in Whitefish. Together, we build a healthier, more connected future where every individual can thrive. We are the Whitefish distribution center for the national outreach program, Meals on Wheels, and host daily congregate meals via the Flathead County Agency on Aging program. In 2020, we delivered a total of 8,999 meals through the Meals on Wheels program and served 1,362 congregate meals at the Center. The Center is also an affordable and conveniently located rental space for receptions, club meetings, banquets, parties, reunions and fundraisers.

The great talks just keep coming!

We are beyond excited to welcome author, adventurer, and long-distance hiker Shayla "Kiddo" Paradeis to the Whitefish Community Center on Wednesday, June 24th at 7:00 PM.

Drawing from more than 18,000 miles of hiking on some of the world's most iconic trails, Shayla will share stories from her inspiring book, Footprint of a Heart—a collection of adventures, lessons, and moments of discovery gathered along the trail.

The evening will include storytelling, discussion, and an opportunity to meet Shayla and have your book signed.

📢 **Whitefish Community Center Closure Notice – Tuesday, June 2**

The Whitefish Community Center will be closed on Tuesday, June 2 as our building serves as a local voting location.

✅ **Meals-on-Wheels deliveries will continue as scheduled.**
❌ **There will be no congregate meal service that day and no programs.**

We encourage everyone to take a few minutes to exercise one of our most important civic responsibilities—get out and vote! 🗳️

Thank you for your understanding as we support our community and local elections.

🌿 Join us at the Whitefish Community Center! 🌿

Today at 10am, members join us for Tai Chi — a gentle form of exercise focused on balance, movement, and relaxation. Then, ladies, come on back this afternoon for Mahjong, the classic tile game that combines strategy, skill, and social fun with friends!

Remember, our exercise and social programs are FREE to attend with your yearly membership or just $5 for visiting nonmembers.

Tomorrow, we’re excited to welcome back Linda Smith for her first presentation of Season 4, featuring Yosemite National Park. The presentation begins at 1pm.

Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day weekend. As we gather with family and friends, let us also pause to remember the true meaning of this holiday — honoring the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Please take a moment to remember the fallen, thank a veteran, and recognize the sacrifices made by their families.

🇺🇸 Whitefish Community Center will be closed Monday in observance of Memorial Day. 🇺🇸

Another note: Meals-on-Wheels distribution will still take place on Tuesday, June 2nd; however, no activities will be held as the Whitefish Community Center serves as a voting center. Please remember to vote — it is one of the freedoms purchased for us at an exceptional price.

The weekend is near — come spend your Friday at the Whitefish Community Center with creativity, community, and fun!

🧶 Join us for Friday Needle Craft at 12:30 PM as we knit and crochet hats for newborns at our local hospitals. Whether you’re experienced or just learning, everyone is welcome to help create something special for our community’s newest arrivals.

💃 Then tonight at 6 PM, come “Learn to Dance” with Debo Powers! It’s been an amazing season filled with laughter, movement, and great memories. Be sure to read the wonderful article in the Whitefish Pilot about all the good times being shared, and don’t miss the last session tonight before we take a short break and return again in June.

We’re looking for a warm, energetic, and compassionate Senior Fitness Instructor to join our community!

Our ideal instructor enjoys working with an ageing population and understands how to create a safe, encouraging, and fun environment where everyone feels welcome — no intimidation, no pressure, just movement and connection.

💪 What we’re looking for:
• Experience working with older adults
• Knowledge of seated/sitting exercises using light weights and resistance bands
• A friendly, patient, and welcoming personality
• A good sense of humor and positive attitude
• Someone motivating without being overly pushy
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certified — or willing to obtain certification

✨ Bonus if you love building relationships and helping people feel stronger, more confident, and connected.
