Today marks the 25th year since the 9/11 attacks on America. Those that are old enough can still remember exactly where they were and what they were doing on that tragic day. It is our duty to never forget. Never forget the lives lost and never forget the unity and strength that the country showed in the aftermath.

Today we gathered with area first responders to remember and honor the 2,977 people who lost their lives on September 11th, 2001.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Two weeks of weekly updates! 8/17-8/31: On 8/23 at 2:40am, an officer attempted to stop a vehicle with no license plates that was driving recklessly in the 5000blk N Lake. A pursuit ensued, but was terminated. The vehicle was located abandoned in Fox Point approximately 20 minutes later. The investigation determined that the vehicle was stolen earlier in the night in Milwaukee. Officers searched for the occupants of the car, but they were not immediately located. At 6:50am, 4 juveniles were located at a bus stop on Port Rd. Their clothes were wet, muddy and grass stained. The juveniles admitted to being in the car and fleeing from police. All 4 were arrested and charges were referred to the Children's Center.

We had 2 lawn mower thefts and a bike theft on 8/23.

On 8/26, an officer stopped a vehicle for not stopping at a stop sign in the 5700blk N Lydell. The driver was arrested for OWI-2nd and gave a breath sample of 0.18.

On 8/28 at 11:14pm, we received a complaint of an erratic driver near Kent/Lake View. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for OWI-3rd. A blood draw was conducted.

On 8/29 at 9:31pm, an officer attempted to stop an electric motorcycle in the 5100blk N Lake for operating without lights, no plates (but ironically had a novelty plate that said "WILL RUN"🤔), high speeds and passing vehicles. A pursuit ensued, but was terminated. The driver was not apprehended.

The biggest news of the week(s): SENDIK'S CLOSED!! We know that this disrupted a lot of people's routines... hang in there! But, also please remember to follow the traffic signs. We had 2 cars that had to be towed out of the "ditch" in front of Sendik's after not following the signs.
