Emergency Department or Urgent Care? It's a common question, especially given that our campus has both available. When illness or injury strikes unexpectedly, it's essential to select the appropriate level of care.

We are here to help you know what to expect before you go, saving time and ensuring you receive the right care when you need it most.

The Emergency Department is best suited for conditions that are potentially life-threatening, severe, or require more complex diagnosis and treatment. Symptoms, such as chest pain, unexplained numbness, speech impairment, faintness or passing out, shortness of breath, persistent vomiting, and any other physical symptoms that come on strongly or suddenly, warrant a trip to the Emergency Department. Always call 911 if you or someone you are with is suffering from crushing chest pain, violent injury, heavy or uncontrolled bleeding, or the inability to safely drive to the hospital. Our ED is staffed by board-certified, fellowship-trained Emergency Medicine physicians 24/7.

Urgent Care is best equipped to care for mild respiratory symptoms, earaches, cuts, scrapes, and bruises, minor concussions, isolated sports and recreation injuries, minor infections, aches and pains, minor burns, skin irritations, nausea, occasional vomiting, diarrhea, eye or dental pain, among other non-emergent symptoms. As a reminder, we have clinics in both Littleton and Lincoln, open daily from 8am to 8pm, with no appointment needed.

Please note that these are not comprehensive lists, and we recommend seeking medical care of any kind if you are unsure about the most appropriate care setting for your symptoms.

Awful news out of Maine . Please keep the family and fellow firefighters in your thoughts. Speedy recovery to the injured.

On Friday, May 15, 2026, at approximately 10:05 am, multiple fire departments responded to a reported fire in one of the silos at Robbins Lumber at 506 Main Street in Searsmont. The Searsmont Fire Department was the initial responding agency, with numerous mutual aid departments assisting in firefighting efforts. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a fire in the silo at the mill. While firefighters were conducting fire suppression efforts, an explosion occurred. Multiple individuals sustained injuries and were transported to hospitals throughout the state. Several are reported to be in serious and critical condition. One firefighter was located deceased on the scene. The firefighter will be transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta where an autopsy will be performed and positive identification confirmed. Investigators are still working through notifications and confirming information related to those who were injured. Additional information about the injured will be released when appropriate. The fire departments have contained the fire, but suppression efforts are still underway. The cause and origin of the fire are being investigated by the Maine State Fire Marshalโ€™s Office

Tonight we pray for those involved, those lost, and their families.

Whitefield Engine 3 responded mutual aid to Dalton this morning for 2 well involved vehicles on fire. Dalton K1s quick thinking having Whitefield respond as well due to the scene being closer to Whitefield prevented the fire from becoming a much larger fire involving woodland areas and a structure. The Fire was quickly brought under control without any injuries or buildings involved.

Great teamwork this am. Mutual aid system at its finest!
