On 3/29/2026, at approximately 5:15 pm, the White Sulphur Springs Fire Department was notified of a brush fire located off Tuckahoe Road. Given the adverse weather conditions, including strong winds and low humidity, additional resources were requested from Lewisburg Fire Department, Antony Creek Fire Department, Frankford Fire Department, and State Forest Rangers. Strategic fire lines were established, and a controlled back burn was executed to expand the safe zone between residential areas and the fire lines, considering the elevated fire danger. Although small spot fires are likely to continue burning for several days, producing smoke, the area will be monitored closely. Please consider this information before dialing 911 to report the ongoing brush fire. Wssfd

Recently, with help from Sadie Fraley, the department applied for a grant through the West Virginia Department of Energy to upgrade all interior and exterior station lighting to LED. That project is now complete, thanks to the crew at Merritt Electric who handled the upgrade.

Things are definitely looking brighter around the house.
