Position Summary:
Meagher County Health Department is seeking a compassionate and dependable individual to serve as a Respite/Homemaker Aide. This position provides in-home supportive services to eligible county residents, primarily adults age 60 and older. The aide assists clients with daily living tasks and provides caregiver relief, helping individuals remain independent in their homes and community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide light housekeeping including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment
• Assist with meal preparation and basic nutritional needs
• Perform grocery shopping and essential errands
• Provide companionship and social interaction to reduce isolation
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and mobility (as trained)
• Offer respite care to relieve primary caregivers
• Provide medication reminders (no administration unless certified)
• Observe and report changes in client condition to supervisor
• Maintain accurate records and service documentation
• Follow all Meagher County Health policies and client care plans

Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience in caregiving, home health, or related field preferred
• Valid Montana driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass background check
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Dependable, trustworthy, and compassionate demeanor
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
• Basic understanding of safety and infection control practices

Physical Demands:
• Ability to lift up to 25–50 pounds
• Frequent standing, bending, and walking
• Ability to assist clients with limited mobility

Work Environment:
• Work is performed in client homes throughout Meagher County
• Travel is required; mileage reimbursement may be available
• Flexible hours based on client needs

Supervision:
Reports to Meagher County Health Supervisor / Public Health Nurse
