The courts are open! And it was all smiles this morning!

After being closed for resurfacing, the pickleball, tennis, and basketball courts at the Maxfield Outdoor Sports Complex reopened today. The Bugbee Senior Center pickleball group had the honor of breaking them in this morning, and the reviews were glowing, with players calling the new courts “phenomenal.”

The resurfacing project also added two additional pickleball courts, bringing the complex to six dedicated pickleball courts.

Thank you to everyone for your patience during the project. Get out there and enjoy the new courts!

Maxfield Outdoor Sports Complex Courts Have Been Resurfaced!

The tennis, basketball, and pickleball courts at the Maxfield Outdoor Sports Complex have all been resurfaced and relined!

The project also adds two additional pickleball courts, bringing the complex to 10 total, and now six dedicated pickleball courts and nets.

Please note: The courts will remain locked and closed to the public through Tuesday, August 18. They will reopen on Wednesday, August 19, to allow the new surfaces to properly cure.

Walking Path Closure- Kilowatt Park

The upper walking paths in Kilowatt North Park near Gillette Street will be closed September 7 through October 1 to accommodate utility construction work.

Work to replace electrical poles is expected to begin in early September. Crews will access the transmission line corridor from Gillette Street and work south.

The pole replacement work is expected to take place toward the end of September, followed by site restoration and cleanup.

The path closure is necessary for public safety. Thank you for your patience while this work is completed.

Maxfield Outdoor Sports Complex Court Closure

The basketball and tennis/pickleball courts at the Maxfield Outdoor Sports Complex are scheduled to be resurfaced beginning Sunday, August 9.

Construction is expected to take 5–7 days, during which time the courts will be closed and no play will be permitted.

Please note that the schedule is weather-dependent and may change if conditions require.

Thank you for your patience as we make these improvements to the courts. We look forward to welcoming everyone back once the project is complete.
