Holmes Post No. 84 is an American Legion Post within the Department of Vermont. It is named in honor of LCpl Holmes who gave the ultimate sacrifice on Thanksgiving Day 2004 while serving with the United States Marine Corps in Iraq. The Post Number of 84 was specifically requested because it was the year Jeffery was born.

Tis the Season for Giving🎁

Jeffery S. Holmes Post No. 84 has dropped off their annual Toys for Tots Donation Box at the Hartford Public Safety Building and our donation box is officially ready for the season! Our officers and staff have already started filling it — and now we’re asking for your help to make sure every child in our community has a bright holiday.

If you’re able, we invite you to drop off new, unwrapped toys. Every donation, big or small, makes a difference 🎁

Members of Post 84 participated in the ceremonies for Veterans Day in Hartford. It was so cold I didn't get any good pictures of them.

Unfortunately, one of the American flags on the bridge has been broken off again. The exact spot one was broken off last year. No parts (flag, pole, bracket) can be found in the area. Done deliberately? I would hope not. If anyone knows anything about this, please reach out. Post 84 will buy replacement parts for next year.
