Each year, we permanently change the lives of 3,000 men, women, and children by finding them stable housing, food, income, and other support systems to allow them to maintain an improved quality of life. Lifting Up Westchester (LUW) helps build the reservoir of support necessary for our Westchester neighbors to flourish. We are here not only to repair well-being when it starts to breakdown but als

o to construct a strong foundation to maintain this well-being over time. For four decades as one of the county’s largest social service nonprofits, we make sure that all of our neighbors in need have critical resources like nutritious food, stable housing, access to healthcare and education, and the strong support systems they need to regain their independence. Lifting up individuals is Lifting Up Westchester. We believe lifting individuals leads to stronger communities, a stronger economy, and a stronger society.

We were honored to receive a generous grant from Rye Presbyterian Church Women's Association to support our KidzLit program, providing literacy enrichment and homework help for elementary and middle school students experiencing homelessness. This grant will help us strengthen their reading abilities, build their learning skills, and ensure they don't lose momentum during the summer months!

We were thrilled to share the Awards Luncheon with two of our wonderful nonprofit partners: Helping Hands of Rye, which provides clothing donations for our shelter residents and backpacks for our youth participants, and Furniture Sharehouse, which welcomes our housing clients to furnish their new homes.

Still thinking about our Built to Last gala...

What a night! From the energy in the room to the powerful stories shared, the celebration was a true reflection of what makes the LUW community so special - people who show up, lift each other up, and invest in something bigger than themselves.

We are so grateful to everyone who joined us to celebrate our incredible honorees and to stand alongside us in building a stronger, more stable future for our neighbors. Because of you, this work isn’t just impactful - it’s built to last.

A huge thank you to our generous sponsors, supporters, and event partners who helped make the evening so meaningful (and so much fun!).

A stable home opens the door to new possibilities. It provides safety, privacy, and the foundation people need to rebuild their lives. With housing in place, individuals and families can focus on work, school, health, and a brighter future.

Through our supportive housing programs, neighbors transition into permanent housing with case managers alongside them, offering guidance and encouragement as they build stability, maintain their housing, and become part of their community.🏠
