Members of Greenburgh IAFF Local 1586 recently had the opportunity to attend MDA Summer Camp, with one of our members volunteering for the entire week as a counselor.

MDA has long held a special place in our Local. Our late brother, Robert “Bubba” Mentrasti, was a dedicated supporter and fundraiser for MDA. Following his passing in 2017 from 9/11-related cancer, the Mentrasti family established a foundation in his honor that helps send several children to MDA Summer Camp each year.

We’re proud to continue supporting MDA and carrying on Bubba’s legacy by helping give these kids an unforgettable week at camp.

For the last few days, Representitives from the WP community, New York State Police, White Plains PBA, PFFA Local 274 New York, Greenburgh Local 1586(𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐭. Greenburgh, Hartsdale Fire District, Greenville Professional Firefighters) and PizzaGirls NY, collected supplies for the victims of the earthquake in Colombia. As a result, a packed 20’ Uhual will be delivered to the transportation center in Queens. Our communities benevolence blew all of our expectations, Thank you all for your help and generosity.🙏🏼

In efforts to provide disaster relief to thousands affected by the 7.4 magnitude in Colombia. Our Local 1586 along with the support of Fairview Fd will be collecting items to be delivered to a drop off location. All items will be transported to Colombia directly via Shipping container.
