WPPRCC Water Relief Effort
The White Plains Puerto Rican Cultural Committee will be spearheading a relief effort for Puerto Rico's current water crisis by collecting water.

Water will be collected at the Mt. Hope AME Church on Lake Street in White Plains. Collections will be on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 5-8 PM from October 1 to October 23. Supporters include Mayor Justin Brasch and the White Plains Common Council. Other cooperating organizations include Comité Noviembre, The National Puerto Rican Agenda - NY Chapter, LACLAA, the Hispanic Democrats of Westchester, and the Yonkers Hispanic Cultural Foundation.

AFYA, a non-profit organization based in Yonkers, will be shipping the water to Puerto Rico in early November.

Today, her extraordinary legacy was honored with the dedication of the United States Congresswoman Nita M. Lowey Community Green at Kensico Dam Plaza—a lasting tribute to her decades of service and her many contributions to Westchester County.
Congresswoman Lowey was a friend and supporter of Hispanic Democrats of Westchester and its mission. We are deeply grateful for her commitment to our community and for the countless lives she touched throughout her remarkable career.
May this beautiful space stand as a lasting reminder of her dedication, leadership, and enduring impact on Westchester and the Hudson Valley.
