☀️🏊 Pool days are some of the best days of summer—but safety comes first.

Drowning can happen in seconds and is often silent. Always keep a close eye on children around water, use properly fitted life jackets, and never swim alone.

A few simple precautions can make all the difference.

Stay alert. Stay safe. Enjoy your summer. 💙

🐾☀️ **White Plains Volunteer Fire Department Reminder** ☀️🐾

As temperatures rise, remember that a parked vehicle can become deadly in just minutes—even with the windows cracked.

**Friends don't let friends wait in hot cars.** That includes our four-legged family members. If it's too hot for you, it's too hot for them.

Before you lock your vehicle:
✅ Take your pets with you
✅ Check the back seat before walking away
✅ If you see an animal in distress, call 911 immediately

Let's work together to keep our pets safe this summer. 🐶❤️

June is PTSD Awareness Month. 💜

Behind every call, every siren, and every uniform is a person carrying experiences that others may never fully understand. PTSD can affect firefighters, EMS, law enforcement, dispatchers, and all first responders.

At White Plains Volunteer Fire Department, we want our brothers and sisters to know this:
It’s okay to not be okay.
You are not alone.
Help is available.

Checking on each other is just as important as answering the next call. Together, we stand strong, support one another, and remind those struggling that there is hope.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out. 💜
