Earlier today, Ambo 204 responded to a hazardous materials incident involving a tractor trailer that had damaged one of its fuel tanks, causing a significant leak.

Our crew assisted with containing the spill and supporting the other units on scene while the situation was brought under control. Thankfully, no one was trapped or injured.

Looks like we found our newest driver🚒

Second Alarm | 38 Box 🔥

Yesterday, Engine 201, Canteen 20 and Rehab 20 responded on a second-alarm assignment in the 38 Box.

Engine 201’s crew spent a significant portion of the incident assigned to the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT). RIT is a critical assignment, with crews standing ready to immediately assist firefighters should an emergency occur.

The Canteen and Rehab also provided support throughout the incident, helping personnel rest, rehydrate, and recover during an extended day of operations.

For week two of 🚨Member Monday🚨 we’re highlighting Jim Goulden, our Rehab Lt. and Maintenance Director!

Jim is one of those people you can count on for just about anything. Whether something needs fixing, you have a question, or there’s a task that needs to get done, chances are Jim can help, or already knows the answer.

He’s also our unofficially appointed wasp killer, which may be one of his most important roles! 🦟

We’re lucky to have someone who’s always willing to jump in and help wherever he’s needed. Keep reading to get to know Jim a little better! 👇

1. How long have you been a member of WMVFC? Since November of 1983 (43 years) First Cowenton, then White Marsh.

2. What is your favorite thing about WMVFC? My favorite thing about the firehouse is the people, the comrades.

3. What made you want to join WMVFC? When our daughter was young, she suffered from seizures. Members got up at o dark thirty on a Sunday morning, got her stabilized, and safely to the hospital. I figured I had to support people like that.

4. Would you rather be able to talk to animals or speak every language? Being fluent in all languages would be incredible.

5. If you could instantly learn one skill, what would it be? To catch up with technology, I am so lost in that. It's very frustrating!

Sunday at Station 20 ✨

Yesterday, members spent a solid 8 hours emptying out the shop, cleaning everything, and getting it all reorganized.

The engine ran 6 calls, we grabbed pizza for lunch, made an ice cream run, and ended the night with a fire and s’mores.

Shoutout to Stoltz, Salas, Brett, Casey, Justine, Racheal, Pedie, Tyler, Kyle, Remi, and Lucy for helping out throughout the day!
