We are so proud to share the continued growth of Cina Akidawe Social Services as we welcome the Meal Site into our circle. What started as a vision is becoming something truly meaningful rooted in culture, carried by community, and growing with purpose.

This new chapter brings more than meals it brings connection. Meals prepared with love, stories shared across generations, and a space where culture, creativity, and tradition are honored every single day. It’s a place where people feel seen, welcomed, and connected.

Keesis and Sawwana bring such heart into this work, leading with kindness, care, laughter, and a deep respect for community. You can feel it the moment you walk through the door.

As we continue expanding services and looking ahead to future events, we are especially excited to see this work connect with the Golden Moccasins Program.

We are grateful, we are growing, and we are just getting started!

As the seasons begin to change, it’s a good time to take a few minutes to check something that protects the people and places we love, your smoke alarms.
A working smoke alarm can make the difference between a close call and a tragedy. They provide the early warning families need to get out safely.
Test each smoke alarm in your home
Replace batteries if needed
Make sure there is a Smoke Alarm near sleeping areas
Check the manufacture date. Smoke Alarms should be replaced every 10 years
As you prepare your home for a new season, take a moment to check your smoke alarms and talk with your family about your fire escape plan.

We want to thank Tammy from Kansas-WorkforceONE for not only joining us during our Golden Moccasins Holiday Party, but for contributing to the Golden Angel Tree that helped us bring some holiday cheer to two elders. They also thoughtfully donated self care items to the PEACE Program, for women healing from domestic violence and sexual assault.
